The Wellbeing Centre will be a new community-owned, multi-purpose health, fitness and recreation facility on Maurice Avenue.

In 2024 a $2M federal government infrastructure grant was secured to commence building.

Gippsland Community Foundation is pleased to announce a conditional offer of $230,000 to CHIRF to support the Aqua Therapy Facility at the Wellness Centre, subject to the satisfactory completion of agreed requirements. The grant will be confirmed once these conditions have been met.

Construction on the facility will commence in late 2026. Once complete, Mallacoota and surrounding communities will have access to a state-of-the-art health and wellness hub for current and future generations.

Play Our Way

Mallacoota Cares charity partners CHIRF and MIAC, were selected to receive $2 million in fundraising under the Federal Government’s Play Our Way program to maximise opportunities and remove barriers, promote equality and improve access for women and girls to participate in sport and physical activity.

While designed as an inclusive space for the whole community, special consideration has been given to ensuring women and girls feel welcome, safe and confident using the facility.

An Australian Government Initiative, Play Our Way.

This activity received grant funding from the Australian Government.

The Federal government grant covers the cost of the building however more funds are urgently needed to finish the interior including flooring, cabinetry, air conditioning, IT and video equipment in order to provide the entire community a facility we can be proud of for future generations.
